Wow! It has been over six months since I have posted anything! Partly to blame is my dang camera for breaking- and the other part is just life- being too busy and out of control! But it's good to be back! I am excited to piece together the pictures we have taken over the past 6 months from other people's camera's so stay tuned!

Old house, still good house!!

These last few weeks have been very disorganized! Nathaniel and I would constantly have to ask ourselves what day it was, or even what time it was. We were living second to second.

The day of my birthday we were given an outstanding deal to move one street behind us to house with a BASEMENT- yep you hear me I have ROOOOMM! I get to put the toys downstairs and say go play see ya in a while!! So as you can see we made the switch!!!

Today I celebrated my 28th birthday!!! It was a great day! I sort of got to just hang out and do whatever- my Parents took me to lunch- PF of course- Nathaniel took me to dinner. Then we went to the Parent's house and had cake and ice cream and they spoiled me with gifts. Here is the collage of gifts. I received shirts, a fondue kit, flip flops, a gift cert. to the Nails, and oh yes, Nathaniel got me an iPod shuffle- it's pink!!! Lisa even hooked me up with an iTunes gift card! I have had a great B-day! Thanks everyone for Birthday wishes and for spoiling me rotten!!

P.S. Emma- thanks for the bags of rocks!! I love them you cutie!!!!

Happy 30th Birthday Nathaniel!!!

Yesterday Nathaniel hit a milestone!! He turned 30!! A month ago he said that for his birthday he'd like us to go down Pine Creek- a wicked canyoneering trek in Zion's! So we talked with our good friend's Tonya and Travis, and they agreed to come along. Two days before his birthday, I tore my calf muscle- but I was determined to go, so I spent two days icing, going to physical therapy and just doing all that I could to insure I could go. Well, right before the first repel, we hit some pot holes, and the water in the canyon turned out to be way deeper than any of us thought- besides the fact that I went with a torn calf muscle!

This is a picture of the 6 of us that went! So besides us, Tonya and Travis, we also met and gained new friends, Jesse and Jessica Barker! Great Day!!

Only 1 day and a few hours 'til summer!

I have been running ragged over these past few months- and I am ready for SUMMER! Never fear though, it is almost here!! This week I had my 4th Kindergarten Graduation- it was great and my students did a great job. I love Kindergarten graduation, despite ALL the hard work, I love doing it!!! I am so grateful that I can have a career where I can work my guts out all year, and be home with my kids during the summer- Yes the politics UGHH, and all that, but I do it for my kids!!

OTHER BLOGGIN STUFF:

So, I have been able to fit a few other things in besides just school schtuff! Here's what we've been doing!!

Mother's Day weekend, we were able to go to Salt Lake and Visit my Grandma Deon, (My Dad's Mom). We had a great time! We hit a few shopping places:

And then had a great BBQ with my Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, etc.

Katelin even got to know some of her 2nd cousins!! This is her and Baylee- and look, they can climb a tree- who knew???

The following week we had tons going, Katelin had her Preschool Graduation,

and we attended a Retirement Dinner for a teacher at my school, Linda Milianta.

Two days later, we celebrated Alecia's 2nd Birthday!! Boy how cute she is! Check out these shots of her!! I love this little spit fire!!

Okay, well I have been blogless lately- only because life has been ultra busy for us!!! Just a few weeks after Nathaniel's Grandma passed away, another Princess joined the Pugh side of our family! We have a new little niece- Chloe Abbigail Fairchild!! I think she is just precious! I took a few pictures of the new addition! Here is Nathaniel's sister Sarah's family:

Nathaniel's Grandma

On Thursday, we attended Nathaniel's Grandma's Funeral! She was 83 years old and she passed away on Easter Sunday. She lived in Hurricane on a Peach Farm with her husband. Today I learned a bit more about her. I learned that she was engaged at age 16, then her future husband, Nathaniel's Grandpa, went off too war. The Grandpa learned to cut hair during the war, so soldiers would always come to him for a haircut and give him tips. He saved the money and mailed it home in any paper he could find, which was usually from the mess hall. It was funny to know that when Nathaniel's Grandma would take it too the bank that all the teller's went on break because no one wanted to count the money because it smelt sooooo bad! (From the paper from the mess hall!) Anyway, it was a pretty good funeral- it only lasted about 30 minutes- perfect length!

The Spring Break Project!

Okay, so I have had a hankerin for a while to do some home improvement stuff. I got some ideas from Nathaniel's sister and then it evolved into our own. SO, I have been planning since January to do this project in the girl's rooms during Spring Break. Well, this is how it went.....

I got a little excited, so I started the Thursday before the break in Katelin's room. Here are some before/during pictures:

As you can see, there was a time that I was wondering what I had gotten myself into. However, the finish product turned out pretty good. (That was after I had to keep running in to watch little clips on You Tube on How to.....!)

So by Wednesday during Spring Break- I was pooped! I sort of had to "veg" before starting Alecia's room- but that night it began.

Nathaniel was totally supportive- he was sort of excited to learn with me- Now, as we speak, he is in remodeling the girl's bathroom! Holy Cow!!! But, it is good, we need to make our little home have some more character!

Katelin's New Look!

So, I have been wanting to get Katelin's hair permed for a while- and I was going to wait until the beginning of next school year- however, it got the best of me! After talking with our "hair-doer", Amy, I got the courage to do it myself.

The other night Nathaniel and I kept walking by Alecia's door and she was in bed reading to herself. So, I got Nathaniel to sneek in and video this little clip! It gets a little long, but it is totally cute!!

It all started when I got home from school on Friday the 13th, the day before Valentines! Nathaniel was on his way to the Klondike with the scouts, so it was me and the kids. However, I was totally surprised to find this beautiful bouquet of tulips waiting for me on the table when I arrived!!

Then later that night before Valentines Day, we had David and Emma over to make Valentine cookies! They were so creative! Even Alecia wanted to get in on the action!

While the cookies were baking, naked cozy put on her imagination hat, Emma's boots, and was even carrying around a purse at one point! It was kind of cute to watch this naked butt in black boots!!

On Valentines morning, we had heart shaped-pancakes with Strawberry syrup!! Mmmmm good!

After Nathaniel got home from scouting, we let the girls open their Valentine gifts:

Ever since Katelin was small, she hasn't really spent a whole lot of time nurturing her little dolls, and playing house. She'll play dress up and dance- but never really play's house. So I have worried, even when we brought Cozy home from the hospital, Katelin didn't seem interested. However, today, Katelin took over and decided she was going to help Alecia become Potty Trained! So here she is!!! I was so relieved!

Katelin's First "Fancy Nancy" Birthday Party!

This is Katelin all ready for her first Fancy Nancy birthday party! If you don't know Fancy Nancy books- you are missing out! They are so cute- everything is Fancy in little Nancy's world!

So, Brittney, who is in my Kindergarten class, had a Fancy Nancy party and invited Katelin!!

The First 22 Days of 2009!!!

The first little bit of 2009 has not been the most joyous! I know blogs are about sharing the good things, but I am going to share some crazy things!

To start of the year, on Jan.5th, the day school started back up, I took the day off because Alecia had two ear infections and bronchitis, yes a visit to the ER was necessary! That night, I went to Wal-mart and it had snowed earlier in the day, so the roads were very slick and icy, (little did I know.) So I was on my way home and slid off the new Cross Hollow Road on the highest part and ended up in a ravine. There was no valid reason that Katelin and I didn't flip over or roll, the only reason I know of is that someone was watching out for us. So, we were very lucky!

Then, over Martin Luther King, we had our nieces, Aspen and Cambria, both near Katelin and Alecia's age. So we got them Friday night for 3 nights, 3 days. Well on Saturday, Nathaniel with all good intentions of entertaining the older girls, took them sledding. The first injury happened when Nathaniel's sled hit a pointy rock and broke his Butt! He still has trouble walking! Then, the second injury happened when the two girls were coming down the hill on the following sled:

The sled took a wrong turn and the tree came out of know where. Both girls put their right legs out to stop, and that is when it happened!

That's right, Aspen broke her ankle. She has green stick fractures in both of the leg bones where it connects to the ankle! Just lovely! Poor thing- but she was a very brave 3 year old!! Katelin got away with a pulled ligament or something, but we made two separate ER visits to have the girls checked out!

As for the two 1 1/2 year olds, lets say that Alecia really did want to be Cambria's friend, see:

But I think she just ended up torturing the poor girl most of the time!!

This is what the night's were like as we put the girls to bed, then Alecia wanted to play Tea-Party and jumped in bed with Cambria!!

Needless to say, life has not been normal- Here's to the next 22 days of 2009 not being as hectic!

Over this Martin Luther King weekend, Emily and Dale asked us to watch their kids while they went to Minnesota. We were getting ready for two extra girls and needed to put the pack and play up in Alecia's room for Cambria. It didn't take Alecia long to perfect the entry into the crib! (Mind you, Alecia has been in her "big girl bed" for almost a month because she kept climbing out of her crib!)

You've got to watch this movie- it is great!

Funny thing- this very day my Mom was telling me what a graceful dancer she thinks Katelin is and that we should look into some sort of ballet class. Well low and behold, Katelin and Emma come home and change into their dance clothes and start dancing. It must make them feel so beautiful!! (And it should, cause they are!)

School Talk

Okay, so I have had something tearing at my heart a little and I just feel better getting it out!. Before the Christmas Break, we had a celebration of "Stellar Students" at school. This means that all the teachers were able to choose 1 outstanding student from their class to have lunch with the Principal. They also each get to eat a kid meal from McDonald's. It has really turned into a fun reward for students. Well, one of the Kindergarten students was able to stay for this reward and when it was over they left the school alone. It was really quite a scary situation. The student ended up walking home alone across 200 N. which is a busy street. So although this wasn't my student, it was a Kindergartner, and I love the family of this student. Looking through a Parent's eyes, all of the most devastating things race through your mind when you show up at school and your child is no where to be found. I have seen this happen several times. Most of the time the child ends up going to a friends house or something- and every single time that I know of here in Cedar- it has always turned out for the best.

I get a pit in my stomach every time something like this happens. As an educator and someone who has worked in the school, I know that especially at North Elem., where I work, every single person that works there- is there to be an advocate for kids. The work that goes on behind the scenes is unmeasurable, especially by those who are not familiar with the "insides" (so to speak.) When accidents happen, it always falls to the educator, school, and school district. This is sad because most of the times Parents or Guardians jump and act hastily toward those who were honestly innocent to the accident that occurred. I know this, because I have been jumped on before as a Teacher. It feels like a slap in the face to all the reward programs, hard work we do to help students succeed. Then you know people will talk and say things like, "What was the school thinking?" When really, what we were thinking was, 'lets celebrate the hard working students at our school!'

If I could say anything to parents, I would say, " Remember that we are all here to help your child succeed, and remember we are people and we have feelings. When something frustrates, concerns, or upsets you, lets talk about it because it will take all of us working together to help your child succeed."

Accidents happen in life, it is what can make us stronger, I myself, as a Parent, Teacher, Aunt, Wife, Sister, Daughter, and Friend, will make mistakes- it will sting for a while, but as I long I learn from it, and improve, I will grow. As all of the above mentioned roles that I play in my life, I hope that I will remember this when people make mistakes. Remember the golden rule, "Treat others as you would want to be treated." Mistakes happen- forgive, forget, and let it go- I hope I remember this in the future for myself!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was great- but I think the age of our kids makes all these little occasions so much fun!

First, here's Alecia with her plate full of food, (she's the best eater out of the Taylor Grandkids!)

Then of course, there's our annual "Magic Christmas Tree" taste test! (The Taylor trees are all from the Magic Forest and magically grow candy canes every day during the Holiday's!)

Trick or Treat!

This year's Halloween was wonderful. The girls looked adorable in their costumes. Rainbow Brite and Chicken Little!

Then of course we met up with Iron Man, (David,) and Princess Arora (Emma). We went Trick- or- Treating and ended up at the Calvary Christian Church's carnival- which was a blast! What a great Day!

Well, I wish I had some pictures of my kids to post, but today I don't. Yesterday, I was talking with my friend- we'll call her Lori who said, " I have been in a bad mood for a month!" Well, I think I have been in a "Bad Mood" for longer than that! There is sure a lot of depressing things going on in the world, even within our families and friends. I have been thinking a lot and trying to make sense of it all- of course I don't have any answers yet- but I was reading this article my Mom gave me today, (it was concerning Financial Freedom,) and it had the 10-10-80 plan. It said for you to put 10% of your income in savings, then 10%- you give to a charity, then you make do with the other 80%. It said that even though you may be having a hard time financially, giving away something each month, makes you even that much more grateful for what you have.

And so, I am grateful for my good family and friends (who keep me sain- daily and joke with me, make me smile, and watch out for me,) a roof over my head, a job and my darling girls- who are so sassy I could just ground them forever- but in the next minute have me laughing my guts out!

With this all said, and nothing really being solved- I leave you with a thought my Dad and Grandma Deon have always told me, "Keep your Chins up- this too shall pass!"

Yes, today when I went in to get Alecia up from her nap- she was naked from the bottom down. I told her if she did it again, she was going to have to get potty trained. I sure told her! Just Kidding! Gotta love the stages of life!

Pumpkin Time!

On the second Sunday of every month, Nathaniel's family gets together for dinner. This time the ideas was that everyone was to bring a pumpkin and decorate them. The kids loved it. What is that that Katelin created? No one knows- but she had a blast!!

Cozy is not quite 17 months old yet, but she is a spit fire. Today at Daycare she went down the slide and sat at the end of it with her arms folded and her face stating, ' If you want me to move, you gonna have to make me!' Well all the little kids were telling her to move, so Tonya had to finally come and move her- what a pill!!!

I don't know what it is with kids and bad dreams- but a lot of that seems to be going around. Well, Katelin ended sleeping on our floor for some of the night last night- then when I got up and started getting ready, she took my place in my bed. Well, I just saw her peaceful, beautiful face sleeping and I stood there and watched her. It is always in those moments, (when they're asleep,) that I appreciate my girls, and remember how much I love them. So, I snapped a picture of Sleeping Beauty to share with all of you!

So, Alecia has been throwing these major melt down temper tantrums! So I have been putting her in her room for 1 minute. She quickly forgets why she is in there and makes her own fun! Well, in 60 seconds, she figured out how to climb to the top of the changing table. Then she got stuck once in the middle! Needless to say, we disassembled the changing table, so she won't break a leg while she is in "time out!"

Well, the other day Katelin was asking someone, "How come you don't like to go to McDonald's to eat?" Well, the person replied, "I don't like to eat there because it give me Butt Rash!" Katelin replied with a simple, "Oh." Little did that person know that it would be locked into her memory forever! So today we were having a yard sell with my whole family and Grandpa offered to head to McDonald's to get breakfast. Well Katelin perks right up and says, "Oh Grandpa, I'd better go and help you incase you get Butt Rash!" Needless to say we all cracked up. However, to this person, and you know who you are, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart!!!

Cozy's Personality!

So, I have to say that I love the girls' day care provider! Her name is Tonya Fails. Her family adores my girls, and our families have become great friends. I especially love that Tonya shares stories about my girls and the cute things they do. Among the most recent: (Well to get you up to speed, a few weeks ago Alecia was bit by a kid from day care, so this is her revenge!) This boy, the offender, was playing with something that Alecia really wanted to play with. So, Alecia didn't hit, she didn't bite, or scream. She just turned her back to him as he was playing on the floor. Well, she started backing up on him, (literally on him,) until he was backed out of the way and she got what she wanted! What a smart little girl!

Katelin and Aspen always have some kind of plan that they conspire when they are together. This time they wanted to fill up buckets to water Grandma Pugh's plastic grass. But Grandma, spoiled them with an even bigger bucket and let them have at it! By the end, all the kids were soaked, and the fake grass looked like a monsoon had just hit it!
